Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation

International Series

The Institute established the International Exhibition of Botanical Art & Illustration series in 1964 with the hope of supporting and encouraging contemporary botanical artists from around the world. The Catalogue of the International Exhibition of Botanical Art & Illustration database is the most comprehensive and concise record available of contemporary botanical artists and illustrators with individuals represented now totaling 1,255.

18th International Submission guidelines

The Institute will host the 18th International Exhibition of Botanical Art & Illustration in fall 2029 (dates to be determined). The exhibition is open to all botanical artists and illustrators working in any medium (except photography) whose work has achieved a standard of excellence and who have not yet been represented in the International series. Artists wishing to be considered for the 18th International should download the 18th International Submission Guidelines PDF. Please read the submission guidelines carefully. Then complete and send the 18th International Submission Form via email or post by 18 June 2028.
